These guidelines exist to protect the safety, comfort, and stability of everyone in the home. Shared living only works when expectations are clear and consistently followed.
Our goal is to maintain a peaceful, respectful, and sober environment where residents can live independently without unnecessary conflict or disruption.
Resident Eligibility & Responsibility
Residents must:
Maintain sobriety at all times
Handle personal health care independently
Be fully ambulatory
Be responsible for personal finances
Manage their own medications
Take responsibility for daily living needs
This home does not provide supervision, medical care, or personal assistance.
Conduct & Behavior Expectations
Residents are expected to:
Resolve disagreements respectfully
Treat others with respect
Maintain calm, appropriate behavior
Respect personal boundaries
Avoid confrontational or aggressive conduct
Follow quiet hours
Violence, threats, harassment, or disruptive behavior are not tolerated.
Housekeeping & Shared
Spaces
Residents are responsible for:
Cleaning up after themselves
Laundry etiquette
Maintaining shared spaces
Bathroom cleanliness
Proper kitchen use and cleanup
Respecting food storage rules
This is a shared home, not a service facility.
Safety & Property Care
Residents must:
Follow smoking rules
Observe fire safety practices
Respect property and furnishings
Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
Lock doors and secure the home
Transportation Guidelines
Transportation is provided for essential needs only, such as:
Grocery trips
Medical or administrative appointments
Errands
Transportation is scheduled and subject to availability.
Violations & Consequences
Failure to follow house guidelines may result in:
Loss of privileges
Immediate removal if safety or sobriety is compromised
Decisions are made with fairness and the safety of all residents in mind.

By living at Mack and Ruby’s Safe Haven, residents agree to follow these guidelines and respect the shared living environment.
House rules may be updated as needed to maintain safety and stability.
